Welcome brothers to a new part of Ships and Scripts Podcast. I'm your host, Javier, and today we're reading a daily devotional from my book, Forged in Faith, a daily devotional for men. I'm glad you're here. Whether you're new to the faith or have been walking with God for years, this devotional is designed to encourage and equip you in your daily journey. Now life can be a whirlwind, right? Work demands, family responsibilities, personal goal, it's all adds up. Amidst the hustle and the bustle, it's easy to lose sight of our spiritual health. But just as physical exercise strengthens our bodies, regular spiritual practice strengthens our souls. In Matthew 4 4, Jesus reminds us that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. This means our spiritual nourishment is just as important as our physical sustenance. Now, this devotional isn't just another item on your to-do list. This is think of it as a companion, a daily pit stop to refuel and realign with God's purpose for your life. Now, each chapter we tackle each week will be real issues we face as men grounded in scripture and practical application. Now, we'll delve onto topics like building a solid foundation of faith, discovering God's given purpose with you and leading with love. We also confront challenges like overcoming temptations and handling conflicts biblically. Through it all, we lean on God's word as our guide. Remember Proverbs 27:17, iron sharpens iron and one man sharpens another. Although we may not be sitting across from each other, consider this a conversation between friends. Let's sharpen each other as we explore what it means to be a man after God's own heart. So go grab a cup of coffee, find a comfortable spot, and let's embark on this journey together. My hope is at these pages you'll find encouragement, challenges, and a deeper connection with God. Now you ready? Let's go, let's move forward. Now, this is chapter one, building a solid foundation, faith in action. Now, building a solid foundation in our faith is like laying groundwork for a study, for a sturdy home, right? Without it, everything else can crumble when life storms hit, the buildings fall. Now, Jesus speaks about this in Matthew 7, 24 and 25, where he says that everyone who hears his words and does them like a wise man who built his house on that rock. Now, faith isn't just something we think or feel, right? It's it's something we do. James 2 17 tells us that faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. That's a strong statement. It means that genuine faith should naturally produce actions that we reflect our beliefs. Now think about Noah. In Hebrews 11 7, we remind that by faith, Noah built an ark to save his family. Now he didn't just believe God's warning, he acted on it. His faith was demonstrated through obedience. So how can we put our faith into action? Now here are some practical steps. The first step is to engage with God's word daily. Psalm 119 105 says, Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Setting aside time each day to read the Bible helps us understand God's will and guides our decisions. Now the second step is prayer. Philippians 4 6 encourage us to not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, letting your request be known to God. Now prayer keeps us connected to God, it expresses our dependence on Him. Now the third step is to serve others. Galatians 5 13 advises us through love, serve one another. Look for appointments to help those around you, whether it's volunteering, mentoring, or simply lending a hand to a neighbor. Now the fourth step is to live with integrity. Proverbs 10 9 states, whoever walks in integrity walks securely. Living honestly and ethically reflects our commitment to God's standards. And the fifth step is to share your faith. In Matthew 28, 19, Jesus commissions us to go and make disciples of all men. Sharing your faith doesn't have to be complicated. It can be as simple as telling someone what God has done in your life. Living out our faith isn't always easy, right? There will be times when doubt creeps in or obstacles arise. Remember Peter walking on water in Matthew 14, 29 through 31? He started strong but began to sink when he focused on the storm instead of Jesus. When you face challenges, keep your eyes fixed on Christ. Don't forget that you're not doing this alone. Acts 1.8 tells us, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You rely on the Holy Spirit to guide us, right? He is he empowers us to live a life that that just actually shows God's love. And Hebrews 10 24-25 encourages to consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together. Surround yourself with other believers who can support you and encourage you. Build a solid foundation, right? Is an ongoing process. This is about daily choosing to follow Jesus and letting your actions align with your beliefs. Now, as you take these steps, you'll find that your faith becomes more robust and you're better equipped to handle whatever comes your way. Remember, it's not about perfection, but progression. Philippians 1 6 assures us that he who began a good work in you will bring to completion of the day of Jesus Christ. Now, before we close, I want to leave you with a couple of reflective questions. In what areas of your life can you more actively live out your faith? And how can you incorporate those practical steps in your daily routine? Now I want to close with a little prayer. Father, thank you for laying a strong foundation through your word. Help me to not just hear your words, but to put them into action. Strengthen me through your spirit to live out my faith each day. In Jesus' name, amen. Now, I truly hope that these chapters have provided you with encouragement and practical guidance for your daily walk of faith. Each page was written with an intention of uplifting you, challenging you, and equipping you to navigate the completions of life as a Christian man. Remembering you're not alone in this journey. God is with you every step of the way, walking beside you every high and every low. He promises in Hebrew 13, 5, I will never leave you nor forsake you. This assurance means that no matter what obstacle you face or what doubt may creep in, his presence is constant, his love unwavering. Lean into him. Lean to the promises. When time gets tough, let it be the anchor that holds you steady. Moreover, your brothers in Christ are also by your side. We are part of a vast community of believers who share their similar struggles, victories, and aspirations. Proverbs 27:17 tells us iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another. Don't underestimate the power of fellowship and accountability. Reach out to those around you, friends, family, mentors. Allow them to support and encourage you. Share your experiences, listen to theirs, and grow together in faith. Keep pressing forward with determination and hope. The road of faith isn't always easy. It's a path filled with purpose and profound joy. Philippians 3.13 encourages us to forget what lies behind and strain forward to what lies ahead. Pressing on towards the goal each day is a new opportunity to deepen your relationship with God, to love others more fully, and to become more like Christ. You embrace the lessons you've learned and put them into practice. Let your faith be active, visible in how you live, love, and lead. Remember the words of James 1 22. But he the the but be doers of the word and not hearers only. Deceiving yourselves, your action can have a ripple effect, inspiring and impacting those around you in ways you may never realize. As you continue on this journey, stay rooted in prayer and scripture. Let God's word be the lamp to your feet and the light to your path. When challenges arise, face them with the confidence that comes from trusting God's plan and his strength working within you. In closing, know that your efforts are not in vain. Galatians 6.9 reminds us, and let us not grow weary of doing good. For in due season we will reap if we do not give up. Stay steadfast, keep the faith, and remember that you are making a difference, not just in your own life, but in the lives of those around you. And I want to say, may God grace you with peace and joy and and love through this whole week until we meet again.
